Many transformations occur in this unique porcelain, which is ultra-sensitive to temperature and humidity when firing. This results in a speckled, ‘scorched’-looking pattern called ‘yo-hen’. The natural unevenness of this effect is balanced by orderly, neat shapes and a sharp delineation between the textured bottom and smooth sides. This 180ml tea cup, which does not have handles, is the perfect vehicle for herbal tea. Do not overheat heat empty or without water in the microwave, and avoid using abrasive scrubbers or steel wool.
